Carrey Friend, Isle of Man Lesbian & Gay Switchboard, was established in 1990.

Volunteers were put through a period of intensive training, which was provided by other experienced volunteers from the Manchester Lesbian & Gay Switchboard.

CFIOMLGB Switchboard took it's first call on 4th January 1991.

In August 2002 a decision was taken to suspend the phoneline service and concentrate on this web site, the provision of an e-mail befriending, support and information service and the forums.

Switchboard took more than 4000 calls in 10 years and has taken nearly 20,000 hits on its web site in the first five years of operation.
